Our Plants, Our Stories 🌿
Every plant has a story. Share yours.
We bring them home when they're tiny. We watch them grow, leaf by leaf. And one day, we realize just how far they've come.
What if your plant could inspire other plant lovers?
Share your plant's transformation with the Zarits community and help fellow plant lovers discover what a little plant can grow into.
Share My PlantBehind Every Plant, There's a Story 💚
A new leaf, a first bloom, a tiny plant that grew into something spectacular… We know how proud you feel watching a plant thrive in your home!
Each week, we feature a different plant family to celebrate the achievements of our community. By sharing your photos, you help other plant lovers see what their own little plants could become.
And because every plant has a story, we'd also love to highlight some of our community's journeys each month in a series of articles on the Zarits blog. Funny, heartwarming, surprising, or even a little scary… Life with plants isn't always smooth sailing!
You don't need to be a photographer or live in a Pinterest-perfect home. What matters to us is your plant, your story, and how far you've come together.
In the Spotlight This Week
🌿 Hoya Week
This week, we're celebrating Hoyas!
Have a Hoya that's grown beautifully and that you're proud of? Now's your chance to share it with the community.
All Hoya varieties are welcome, as long as they've reached a certain level of maturity. You can submit several different varieties.
How to Participate
Just three easy steps!
Choose Your Plant
Pick a plant from this week's featured family that has reached a certain level of maturity (no cuttings or young plants).
Take Its Picture
Take up to 2 photos of your plant, ideally in a square format. No professional equipment needed—your phone is perfect!
Share Its Story
Fill out the form with your plant's name, your photos, and, if you'd like, a few words about how it's grown.
Show Your Plant at Its Best 📸
To help other plant lovers discover the potential of your variety, we're looking for natural photos where your plant is the star of the show.
- Square format (1:1), with the entire plant visible and no important leaves cut off.
- Front-facing or at a slight angle, leaving a little space around the plant.
- Soft natural light to show off the foliage's colours and details.
- A simple, uncluttered background: white, cream, beige, or a softly blurred natural setting. Avoid busy backgrounds.
- A sharp, high-resolution photo: send the original file rather than a screenshot.
- True-to-life colours: avoid filters that change how your plant actually looks.
- No text, logos, or watermarks, so your plant gets all the attention.
Quick tip: Take a small step back to fit your entire plant in the frame. You can send up to 2 photos to show different angles.

A Few Things to Know
Does my plant have to come from Zarits?
Not at all! Whether you bought your plant from Zarits or somewhere else, it's welcome as long as it belongs to this week's featured plant family.
What do you mean by a "mature" plant?
We're looking for plants that have reached a certain level of maturity, rather than cuttings or young plants.
They should show their growth habit, foliage, colours, and the distinguishing features of their variety. They don't have to be huge—the goal is simply to show what a small plant can become as it grows.
Can I share more than one plant?
Absolutely! You can submit several varieties from the featured plant family. Simply complete a separate form for each variety, with a maximum of 2 photos per plant.
For Canadian residents, each selected variety qualifies for a CAD $10 Zarits gift card. Multiple photos of the same variety qualify for only one gift card.
How are photos selected?
This isn't a random draw. The Zarits team selects photos based on several criteria, including the plant's development, how accurately it represents its variety, sharpness, lighting, and composition.
Our goal is to choose authentic photos that help other plant lovers discover the potential of each variety. Multiple participants may be selected.
Participating does not guarantee selection or a gift card. Only selected varieties submitted by eligible Canadian residents qualify for the CAD $10 reward.
When will I know if my photo has been selected?
We'll contact selected participants within 3 weeks of submission, using the email address provided in the form.
If your variety is selected and you live in Canada, you'll receive a CAD $10 Zarits gift card. Your photo may also appear on our website and in our communications.
We may also share selected community photos on our social media channels.
Could my story be published on the blog?
Absolutely! Through our monthly "Our Plants, Our Stories" series, we'd love to highlight the most inspiring, heartwarming, or surprising stories from our community.
Having your photo selected doesn't guarantee a feature on the blog. Some stories may be chosen for a dedicated article.
If we'd like to feature your story, we'll contact you to learn more and get your permission before publishing your testimonial.
What rights am I granting Zarits?
By participating, you confirm that you own the submitted photos or have the rights needed to authorize their use. You allow Zarits to use, reproduce, and publish selected photos on its website, social media, in emails, and in other marketing communications, in accordance with the participation terms.
Photos must be yours or used with proper authorization. Images taken from the internet without permission or generated by artificial intelligence aren't accepted.
If we'd like to tell your personal story in a blog article, we'll contact you separately for your consent before publication.
Can Zarits edit my photo?
Yes, we may make minor visual adjustments, such as cropping or changes to brightness, contrast, colour balance, or saturation.
These adjustments help us match the photos to our visual style without changing your plant's real appearance.
