What to do when you receive your plants!

Everything you need to know to unbox your plant properly and help it gently adapt to its new environment.

Good habits upon arrival

• Open your box delicately, without pulling on the leaves or stems.
• Remove the protections gently, one step at a time.
• If your plant is cold, let it return to room temperature before handling it too much.
• Place it in a bright spot, but out of direct sunlight.
• Avoid drafts, heaters, and sudden temperature changes.
• Check the soil moisture before watering. It doesn't always need water right away.
• Wait about 2 weeks before repotting, unless there's an exception.
• Give it time to acclimate: a slightly tired, folded, or yellowed leaf can occur after transport.

During the first 2 weeks

After transport, your plant needs a little time to adapt.

• Do not repot it immediately.
• Let it acclimate for about 2 weeks.
• Keep it in a bright spot, out of direct sunlight.
• If possible, you can place it under a grow light for about 12 hours a day during this period. This is optional if you already have good natural light.

Watering

• Always check the soil moisture before watering.
• Add only a small amount of water if needed.
• If your plant is in a container with a reservoir or water tray, add only about ¼ of the reservoir.
• Wait until the water is completely consumed before adding more.
• Avoid overwatering, especially in the first few days, to reduce plant stress.

To keep in mind

Plants are living things and can react to transport. A small imperfection, a folded leaf, a dry tip, or a tired leaf doesn't always mean your plant is doing badly.

The most important thing: unbox it gently, place it in a stable location, and observe it for the first few days.
