The Old Man of the Andes Cactus is a spectacular cactus known for its long, silky white spines that progressively cover its stems, giving it its characteristic "old man" appearance. Native to the mountainous regions of South America, it develops a columnar habit and a unique look that makes it a magnificent ornamental plant. Drought-resistant and low-maintenance, it is perfect for cactus enthusiasts and those who prefer easy-care plants.

The plant is sold in a plastic pot.

Care instructions:

Loves very bright light and can enjoy several hours of direct sun. Excellent light promotes compact and vigorous growth. When changing locations, gradually acclimate the plant to direct sun to avoid sunburn.

Water generously, then allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. Significantly reduce watering during periods of slower growth. Like most cacti, it tolerates a lack of water much better than too much moisture.

Prioritize a very light, airy, and perfectly draining substrate. Our coco-perlite potting mixcan serve as a base and be enriched with mineral elements to further improve drainage.
