The Mammillaria elongata, also known as the Ladyfinger Cactus, is a small cactus with a unique shape consisting of numerous cylindrical, elongated stems that naturally cluster together to form dense clumps. Its stems are covered with fine spines arranged in regular patterns, which can vary in color from golden yellow to brown depending on the specimen. At maturity, it may also produce delicate little flowers around its stems.

The plant is sold in a plastic pot.

Care instructions:

Loves very bright light and enjoys several hours of direct sun once gradually acclimated to it. Excellent light promotes compact growth and encourages flowering.

Water thoroughly, then let the substrate dry out completelybefore watering again. Significantly reduce watering during its dormancy period. Mammillaria elongata tolerates slight underwatering much better than excess moisture.

Prioritize a substrate that is very light, mineral-based, and highly draining, specially adapted for cacti and succulent plants. Excellent drainage is essential to limit the risk of root rot.
