Mammillaria scrippsiana is a compact cactus cherished for its rounded shape and its many regularly arranged spines around its tubercles. Over time, it can produce offsets and form pretty little colonies. Under good growing conditions, it can also offer delicate small flowers arranged in a crown around the top of the plant.

The plant is sold in a plastic pot.

Care instructions:

Loves very bright light and can enjoy several hours of direct sun. Good light promotes compact growth and beautiful spine formation. Gradually acclimate the plant to direct sunlight to avoid burns.

Water thoroughly, then allow the substrate to dry out completely between waterings. Drastically reduce watering during the winter when growth slows. Like most cacti, it tolerates a lack of water much better than constantly moist soil.

Opt for a very light, airy, and well-draining substrate to prevent water from accumulating around the roots. Our Coco-Perlite Potting Mix can serve as a base, with the addition of our Chunky Mix Potting Mix to achieve an even more structured blend and promote excellent drainage.
