Ferocactus glaucescens is a remarkable cactus, notable for its globular to slightly cylindrical shape and its magnificent blue-green to bluish-grey coloring. Its well-defined ribs are edged with robust spines, generally pale yellow to golden, which create a superb contrast with its bluish epidermis. With maturity and under good conditions, it can also produce lovely yellow flowers at the top of the plant.
